As running in the 1950s with coal or oil tender
Streamlined in 1937, the four members of the VR S-class hauled the "Spirit of Progress" from Melbourne to Albury non-stop at an average speed of 38km/h and an Australian speed record of 128km/h.
It was easily Australia’s most famous train and literally put the Victorian Railways on the map of world passenger railways.
The ‘S-class’ continued in service until 1953-54, and all four were scrapped soon afterwards.
TrainBuilder is offering the ‘S-class’ as it rain in the late 1940s and 1950s, with coal or oil tender.
