Signals

Safe working practices on Australian railways saw the introduction of British-style mechanical two-postion lower-quadrant semaphore signals in the nineteenth century. Thousands of these signals were installed all over the country but were gradually replaced and few examples of these beautiful lattice mast signals remain today.

Signals are offered in both home and distant versions, both with operating blades and lamps lit with an LED behind the “spectacles”.

Water Tanks and Cranes

During the steam era, water tanks and water cranes could be found all over the Victorian Railways system, especially at stations and locomotive depots.

We have represented the water tank in silver, as it was the responsibility of each VR District Engineer to paint the tanks in aluminium spar-lac after installation.

Our HO-scale model of the stand-alone water crane comes factory assembled and painted with swinging spout and drip grate, and is a necessary addition to any VR layout.
